VENUS WEDDING | LEIGH & ALEX
This was the closest wedding to home I have ever captured, in fact my first stop was just around the corner with the boys who were soaking up the sunshine, along with a few beers and champers.
I have known Alex (aka Nobby) for a long time so when I asked him to stand on the little step for a few mirror photos I just had to get this shot. Sorry mate, they say good things come in small packages! 🙂
Next I travelled to the other side of the village to meet Leigh and her bridal party getting ready, including their gorgeous daughters Ashely and Grace. I always enjoy this part of the day as you sense the nervous excitement as time edges closer to the ceremony, although Leigh was one of the calmest brides I’ve ever met. After the delivery of the stunning wedding flowers from The Bespoke Flower Shop in Dinnington it was off to Laughton Church to wait for the Brides arrival.
It was a glorious day without a cloud in the sky, which can be a challenge for the photos, but I knew the church grounds well and there was plenty of shaded areas for the group photos and portraits. After the ceremony we had the largest confetti bomb in history before guests made their way to the Venus Restaurant for the evening reception. I had never seen the Venus set up for a wedding, and I was very impressed with the decor and the food was exceptional.
The day flew by and and in the evening Leigh changed into a beautiful elegant dress before hitting the dance floor with her husband. It was a cracking day with a great crowd, and best of all I only had to travel a mile home!! 🙂
Congrats again to the wonderful couple and I wish you the very best for your future together!! Xx
