FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY | HOTEL VAN DYK

One of the perks of food photography is you often get to sample the delicious food, and as my friends would tell you I enjoy a free tea.

I’ve done several food photography shoots over the years, but this is my first time blogging about one.  The reason being the food at Hotel Van Dyk has seriously raised the bar around the local area as they aim for their second rosette.  Working with the kitchen and hotel staff was great fun, and there was a lot of interest in the shoot, or maybe it was the food.  Probably the latter seeing as everyone disappeared after the desserts.

The Bowden Restaurant provides an elegant dining experience accompanied by fine cuisine. The restaurant is open Friday & Saturday from 6.30pm and Sunday 12noon – 4.00pm.  I had a lovely meal with my wife there a couple of weeks ago, the service was flawless, the pianist was excellent but mostly the food was outstanding, particularly the Duo of Venison and Chocolate Cased Caramel Parfait.  Hungry yet?

The Grill Room offers Brasserie cuisine in a relaxed and contemporary style atmosphere, offering traditional home cooked foods, Vegetarian and Children Menus. The Grill Room is open Monday to Saturday from 12.00pm to 9.30pm and Sunday’s from 12.00pm to 5.00pm.  There is a great selection of food available in the Grill menu. The Pan Seared hake or Chicken Escalope would be my recommendations.  Click here for more information on the Hotel Van Dyk menu’s.

Below are some of my favourite dishes from the Bowden Restaurant menu to wet your appetite…

By now you must be licking your lips!! I really do recommend a visit to either the Grill or Bowden Restaurant, you wont be disappointed.
