BESTWOOD LODGE HOTEL WEDDING | MEL & DOM

Date: 02/06/2017
Ceremony:  Emmanuel Church, Church View Close, Bestwood, Nottinghamshire, NG5 9QP
Reception: Bestwood Lodge Hotel, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG5 8NE

Emmanuel Church at Bestwood is a stunning little Victorian church that was built at the same time as Bestwood Lodge for the 10th Duke of St Albans.  There is a lovely woodland walk from the church to the venue that we did on the pre-wedding shoot to scope the grounds.

The grounds at Bestwood Lodge are vast with lovely hidden walkways through the woodland area and a hidden garden and stairs that provided a great backdrop for photos of the newlyweds.

The couples little boy Harley is adorable and he had his beaming (and somewhat cheeky) smile on show all day. He joined us on the pre-wedding shoot too and again he was good as gold and they got some stunning family portraits.  This is something I always like to do as it’s important to me to get to know the family and build trust with any children prior to the big day.  Being a father of two I know how challenging it is to get those precious family photos.

It was a glorious day and guests relaxed in the outdoor balcony area and we had some fun with fun games, the groom throwing the bouquet and drone photos of the wedding party.  It was a wonderful evening and after the first dance Mel Granddad joined his granddaughter on the dance floor which had most the room in tears.

I would like to thank the couple again for choosing me as their photographer, it was a pleasure getting to know them and Harley and I wish them a long and happy future together.  Here are a few of my favourite photos from the day…
